What would you say if I told you that in 18 months by working with Karen you could lose 100 pounds, change your entire body, and get into the best shape of your life by learning how to fuel your body properly? I’d bet you tell me I’m full of shit, right? Well I am living proof that this is possible and with Karen’s help you can do it to. The above pictures are real, they are me, and they have not been altered in any way except to add the dates. If these pictures are not enough proof to convince you that working with Karen and NS Nutrition is successful, then to be honest, I don’t know what is. Over the course of 18 months from the day I started working with Karen on nutrition coaching and joining Crossfit I have lost 100 pounds and at the age of 31 I am the healthiest I have ever been and in the best shape of my life. I’m not really sure where I would be right now without her help and guidance, but I know I would have given up long ago that’s for sure. Losing weight can be an incredibly long process so having a coach there right beside you to help keep you on track and reassure you you’re heading on the correct path has got to be one of the best things I have ever done for myself. The weight loss journey and the road to healthy eating is a long and windy one and it is not easy, but if you’re reading this and even the slightest bit interested in working with Karen to help you navigate throughout the process, I sincerely hope you give it a try – the only thing you have to lose is time and weight – and the time is going to pass anyways.
Throughout my time spent working with Karen, she has proved time and time again that she is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, honest, caring, and genuine. If she does not know the answer to something, she will tell you and help you find the answer together. Karen is straight to the point and will be up front and honest with you by telling you like it is, which is sometimes what you really need to help keep you moving forward. There were so many times along the way where it took everything I had to not doubt her, and looking back I am so thankful I trusted her and never gave up. The best advice I can give you for success is to listen to her, communicate with her, trust her, and trust the process and I promise you will be successful if you’re willing to try your hardest and give this everything you’ve got. If you are willing to put in the time, effort, and the work it requires, I have no doubt in my mind that by working together with Karen the two of you will reach your goals and find success together.

I contacted Karen in January 2017 when I weighed myself and was more than 160 pounds! Over the past 5 years or so my weight had been going up and my confidence down. I wanted to lose 20 pounds and knew I needed help because clearly what I was doing wasn’t working and being 56 (and post-menopausal to boot) makes it that much harder. So I started working with her right away and really just wanted to be told exactly what to do so I didn’t have to think about it. I knew I had to get my eating under control before I could really hope to lose the weight because you just can’t exercise enough to offset nightly binges in front of the tv!When she announced a 14 week Transformation Challenge she was starting on March 1, I jumped (almost literally!) at the chance. She even got me to join a gym again which I would have sworn was not possible. Over the next few months I learned from her how to properly eat to fuel my body and never felt like I was starving. It was a miracle! And the meal planning and prep got easier as time went on. My body adjusted and the weight was coming off. I was also following a workout plan Karen gave me and stepped out of my comfort zone in so many ways but I enjoyed every minute of it. Checking in twice a week was great because I needed that extra accountability to someone. I was honest with her on how I was doing and she was honest with me in her feedback and encouragement. By the middle of June I had lost the 20 pounds and almost 7% body fat!
But when I saw my before and after pictures side by side it really hit me what a transformation I actually had gone through! I can’t thank Karen enough for guiding me on this journey!

I have always been very active and considered myself a pretty "fit" person... Until I let life get in the way and saw the scale hit 176lbs! Enter Karen Busalacchi... Who not only challenged me but also had Faith enough to know that the two of us together could get me to a place in my fitness I never thought I would be able to reach. In just... over five months I hit the stage... Still with room for improvement but definitely looking and feeling the best I ever have! Now that I have begun preparing for the stage once again I find myself doubting and questioning if I will be ready... Which is why I needed this motivation! Karen at NS Nutrition is the real deal! I’ve been working with her for about 2 months and I’ve been noticing changes already; I’m getting stronger and leaner and couldn’t be more excited! The am very impressed by her level of commitment in my success. If I email a question, the response is timely and always from a supportive and well-educated perspective. She’s realistic and listens to what you need to maintain balance in your life, putting everything into attainable goals for you that she keeps you accountable to. May 2018 and I was probably over 220#. My sister started CrossFit and suggested I try it. I knew nothing about it, googled CrossFit and stumbled upon Rau’s Fitness Factory. I started going a few times a week, made minor changes on my own to my diet. I didn’t see much change, Coach Steve told me about Karen and NS Nutrition many times but I felt I needed to worry about the gym. Also, a little background, that spring I started having issues focusing my eyes and other little things. Here my diabetes was so out of control it was affecting my eyesight. I was taking oral anti-diabetic medications and soon was switched to insulin. I was also on blood pressure medication and cholesterol pills. I decided to work with Karen for my nutrition as I wasn’t able to do it on my own. She had me start by logging all my food (Lose It! App) for a few weeks. She then gave me my per day macros. I had to make a menu and share it with her (she also offers to write a menu) as long as I hit my macros she doesn’t care what I eat. Once I started hitting my macros on a consistent basis the weight dropped. I was able to switch back to oral anti-diabetic meds instead of insulin, my other meds were adjusted as well. I injured myself stepping off a curb and ending up taking a long break from the gym and macro counting. I gained the weight back, my depression started to resurface. I contacted Karen July of 2019 asking for help and guidance. We started back with my nutrition, counting macros. And again the weight dropped, I was back going to the gym several times a week. My diabetes is very well under control as well as my blood pressure and cholesterol. I am on the lowest dosages. I’m hoping my next checkup to be taken off of them all completely. This current stint, I am down 25 pounds (currently 183#), and countless inches. I work closely with Karen, checking in with her twice a week letting her know where I am struggling. She’s easily able to suggest changes in my food if I’m having a problem or if I’m short she can suggest something to add. Between Karen with NS Nutrition and Steve at Razor’s fitness they’ve help me accomplish goals and push me when I need it.
